Legislative Affairs Committee
The Legislative Affairs Committee serves as a research and advisory committee for the Chamber Board of Directors. The charge of this committee is to thoroughly research issues that come before it and to ultimately recommend support, opposition, or neutrality on issues that affect business in Shelby County. The Board of Directors retains full authority in terms of which issues it chooses to take a position and how each position is specifically acted upon. While the committee is charged with promoting a positive, pro-active business environment, the Chamber is a non-partisan organization and shall neither endorse candidates for public office nor political parties.
Members of the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber are invited to submit a Request for Issue Advocacy form at any time they would like the Chamber Board of Directors to consider a position on a specific issue. Copies of this form can be obtained by calling the Chamber.
